Another great time to visit Vigan is during their World
Heritage Cities Solidarity Cultural Festival celebration every September. Through
the yearly World Heritage Cities Cultural Festival every September, Vigan City
in Ilocos Sur preserves and promotes the Ilocano culture and heritage.
Vigan City had prepared a
lot of activities where people can join and participate. Every year, there is
also a food and trade fair where you can find different kinds of food and also
the products of some cities or municipalities near Vigan. Historia Oral,
Sabayang Pagbigkas,Zarsuela Ilocana, Daniw, Folk dance, Vocal Chorus, Vocal
Fotografias Y Recuerdos and Cultural show are the activities held at the
Vigan Convention Center. Repazzo de Vigan Parade is also held every year where
most of the people join the parade especially the City Government
employees.
This month-long
festivity, in solidarity with other World Heritage Cities around the world,
aims to strengthen the pride in the city’s history and culture, promote
friendship and diversity between countries and serves as a great venue for
forging ties and understanding through community’s involvement in the city’s
various activities that highlights love for culture, arts and entertainment.
